The 30th anniversary edition of the Brutal Assault festival will once again take visitors to the grounds of the Josefov military fortress in Jaroměř, East Bohemia. The carefully curated programme will offer a cross-section of the very best that extreme guitar music has produced over the last 30 years. Among the acts confirmed so far are Danish pioneers Mercyful Fate, Finnish band Children of Bodom, British masters of gothic rock The Sisters of Mercy and genre stalwarts such as Emperor, Carcass, Hypocrisy, Belphegor, Devildriver, the Polish black metal band Mgła, and a performance by the legendary Czech band Master’s Hammer, who will perform their debut album Ritual in its entirety.

In addition to a varied musical programme, this year’s festival will once again offer a wide-ranging supporting programme comprising a large number of art exhibitions, workshops, talks and historical displays. The enormous interest from fans in this anniversary edition is evidenced by the fact that the festival has already reported over 40 per cent of its total capacity sold; the organisers therefore advise those interested not to delay in purchasing tickets.
