Beata Bocek is a singer-songwriter with the soul of a pilgrim. Her music delves into the depths of the human soul, yet retains a lightness and playfulness. She writes and sings in Czech, Polish, and her own language, which she creates according to her mood at the moment—that's how much music is her natural language.
On stage, she combines the accordion, guitar, flutes, and looper to create fascinating soundscapes. Her albums Ja tutaj mieszkam, O Tobje and One moment are introspective, yet open to the world. Now, after 10 years, she is releasing a new album, Bílo, which she will also launch in Prague.
MDŽ, or Musicians, Ladies, Women, is a trio of women playing folk/folklore/world music. The project is based mainly on original songs by Lucie Redlová and Beata Bocek, folk songs from Wallachia, Silesia, Moravian Slovakia, and Slovakia, and refined dramaturgy based on the diversity of arrangements and accompanying instruments (guitar, mandolin, violin, accordion, ukulele, koncovka...).
MDŽ has been playing since 2025 with the following lineup:
