Sharp Pins is the lo-fi pop project of Kai Slater, also known as the frontman of garage band Lifeguard. Whilst Lifeguard forges a path through rougher terrain, Slater’s solo work takes a more jangly direction, full of sweet love songs and melodies that seem to have strayed from the 1960s. Since his debut in 2025, he has now released three albums. An impressive pace, even for someone who clearly doesn’t like sitting still.
