With a healthy dose of humour, self-deprecation and sharp lyrics, Elmer deliberately plays with expectations surrounding gender, sound and appearance, thereby challenging the norm. In 2021, the rapper and musician made her breakthrough when her track ‘Je Vader’ went viral. Since then, she has performed at major festivals such as Lowlands, Pukkelpop and ESNS, and in 2025 she won an Edison Award for ‘Best Newcomer’.
